Mohave Valley

Located just a stones throw away from the border of Needles, Calif., Mohave Valley is known as a farming community surrounded by an
abundance of cotton and hay fields. If your not wanting to experience the farming culture, other avenues of fun awaits visitors traveling
through rural Mohave County and the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe Reservation. Spirit Mountain Casino and RV Park, located in the hub
of Mohave Valley, offers a bustling little casino without the travel to bigger cities like Laughlin or Las Vegas, Nev. For racing enthusiasts, the Mohave Valley Raceway offers several events throughout the course of the year. Due to summer temperatures, all races are placed on hiatus until early September. For those who want to hit the green, they have a choice of either Willow Valley Golf Course, a 9-hole course located along the main highway artery at King Street, or just down the road is the El Rio Golf Course and Country Club that boasts a championship 18-hole course and a Spanish style clubhouse with a sports bar, restaurant and golf apparel shop inside.

Fort Mohave

Located just north of Mohave Valley, the Fort Mohave area—also
known to some as Fort Mohave Mesa—is home to the second largest
Safeway store in the state and the expanding state-of-the-art Valley
View Medical Center hospital. Another large venue for several yeararound
events like rodeos and concerts is the Mojave Crossing Event
Center, which sits along the banks of the Colorado River off Aztec Road
and across from the Avi Resort & Casino in Laughlin, Nev

Bullhead City

Located just north of Fort Mohave, Bullhead City offers an international
airport and shopping areas with national chain stores such as JCPenney,
Super WalMart, Kmart, Target, Kohls, PetSmart, Ross, Bed, Bath &
Beyond, Lane Bryant, Home Depot, Sam’s Club and Lowe’s Home
Improvement. The town emerged as a home to construction workers
who built Davis Dam and was named for Bull’s Head rock, which now
lies mostly submerged in Lake Mohave to the north. The Colorado
River Museum is at the north end of town along Highway 95 at
Highway 68 and features a vast array of local history memorabilia.
Bullhead City was incorporated in 1984 and covers an area of about 43
square miles.

Needles, California

Located a short distance south of Mohave Valley, where the Arizona and
California borders meet, is one of the oldest cities in San Bernardino
County and former home to famous “Peanuts” cartoonist Charles
Schulz. With a strong railroad presence, Needles was founded in 1883
and later incorporated as a charter city in 1913. A large historical
fixture situated in the heart of downtown Needles is the El Garces
Harvey House, which underwent a major facelift in preparation of the
Centennial celebration held last October. One popular attraction for
locals and visitors is the Colorado River Round-Up Rodeo held each
year in March. Needles can also be described as a quaint, close-knit
river community with several businesses and educational entities, like
the Palo Verde Community College building that was completed in late
2008. For those wanting to stick to seeing historical markers, be sure to
venture out and experience the historic roadway of Route 66 that travels
from Needles to Los Angeles, Calif., or if your heading east and want to
